Arriving at the Farm 01/24/2012

The dog perks her ears, her tail raises like a flag, signaling the arrival of a new horse.
Sure enough a truck and horse trailer pull into the drive.

Excitement fills the air .
Stepping off the trailer, arrogant energy swirls as the new horse gauges his competition.
On high alert, he reminds me of the dog.

Tail flagging his masculine presence.
Bellows resonant through the stillness of the farm.

Heads lifts, eyes stare and passively return to the duties of mowing the fields.

The new horse poses, questions run across his face.
His head drops, the tail folds.

He realizes he can relax and be himself.

Calm and mannerly he walks to the barn.
The owners stare in shock.
The trainer said...@#$%^.......about this horse.

But the owners can see this is not the case.

Once at the farm the magic of calm flood in to the cracks in his mask.
Today is the first day of letting go and allowing life to refill his cup.

Patience will go far with this horse.
Posture training done by these skilled hands,

will in a month transform this beautiful fellow into the dream he was meant to be.
